Updating BootCamp to Win 7 suggestions?

In order to update the BootCamp Version, is it recommended that rather than
attempt an install via Parallels, I boot directly into BootCamp and then
Install Win 7 from the Disk? I have been waiting to update BootCamp until
Apple releases the BootCamp compatibility update...
