Upgrade from v3 to 4

So I just upgraded from version 3 to 4. That is, I purchased version 4, and tried to install it, but got rather stuck. It says that I need to shut down Windows XP, except that Windows XP is not open, and I have already uninstalled version 3. what to do? I am not quite computer savvy and really need Parallels for schoolwork.

Hello,

Please do the following:
1) Quit installation process of Parallels Desktop 4.0
2) Open Terminal -> Applications -> utilities -> Terminal
3) cd /Documents (hit Enter)
sudo rm -rf .parallels-vm-directory/ (it may require password, p0lease try your Mac password, it will be invisible)
