Is there any danger that in future upgrades, they might change the 'virtual hardware'? This could potentially cause Windows to reject an earlier activation, thinking it's installing on a different machine? Salamat
Any thing is "possible". In fact the VM in v. 3 is changed from that of v. 2 -- making it difficult (at best) to downgrade from v. 3 to v. 2 unless you've saved a copy of your v. 2 winxp.hdd file (which gets "processed" as part of the upgrade to v. 3). But in upgrading from v.2 to v.3 I was not asked to re-activate WinXP. Of course, Microsoft (M$) is really good at making the simple more difficult, so who knows what mess they will create for us in the future? Phil
