Upgrade to 4.0/3846 won't install

My About Paralells says I am using 4.0.3844. The upgrade for 4.0.3846 keep appearing on my screen. When I click install the installation sequence screen appears but then it just disappears without going through all the steps. How do I get it to install or get rid of this reappearing box and start again?

How do I shut down conflicting virtual machines?

I'm having the same problem. My build is 3810 I downloaded the .dmg file from this link, but when I try to install I get a message that reads "Conflicting Virtual Machines, to continue installation shut down all virtual machines;
My Boot Camp(1)

I don't have Boot Camp or Parallels running, so how do I shut down virtual machines?

Actually I found that link last night and did a successful upgrade. The only problem that I had was that it wiped out my previous Virtual Machine, so I had to install from scratch. Seems ok now. Thanks.
