I had an ubuntu guest OS (13.04) on my 15" retina MBP, and had it working fine (didn't make tons of custom configuration changes to ubuntu). I have been using a resolution of 1680x1050 for the most part. Then I upgraded ubuntu to 13.10 using their upgrade tool. Upon restart, however, I got this error that said "could not apply the store configuration for monitors". After googling a little, I removed my ~/.config/monitors.xml. Now the error is gone, but the window is still dark (with some blue dots at the top). I also saw warnings from Parallels that I need to update the parallels tools, but with this state I'm not sure how that can be done. Is 13.10 supported by Parallels? My Parallels version is the latest (9.0.23136). Thanks!
I experienced something similar and just posted (about the same time as you) on http://forum.parallels.com/showthre...ouse-not-working-launcher-amp-toolbar-missing however, I could not remove my ~/.config/monitors.xml as I could not access terminal within my ubuntu 13.10 VM. how did you manage to do that?
I had ssh server running on my ubuntu vm, so I could ssh into it. I ended up recreating the vm from scratch. I still get the annoying pop-up when I log in, but now I can dismiss it, and get on with it.
