Upgrading to P9 Question

My present set up:

Parallels 7
Windows XP
Windows 8.1

When I open Parallels I select the Windows environment, XP or 8.1.

I intend to purchase P9. I want to run Win 8.1 only and no longer use XP. I'd like to be able to take everything from XP into 8.1 as I upgrade to P9. Is this going to be a complicated procedure, or will the install/upgrade to P9 direct me? Are there any things I should know in advance?

Hi Axeman21,

Yes, you can upgrade to Parallels Desktop 9 and use Windows 8.1 Virtual Machine with Windows XP Hard Disk attached as a secondary drive. Your XP programs cannot be migrated to 8.1 but you will have access to your files.
