I have a USB drive with two partitions: FAT32 and ext4, in that order. If I plug it into OS X, it recognizes the FAT32 partition and mounts it. It does not recognize the ext4 partition, and does not mount it. If I boot an Ubuntu guest OS, Ubuntu will see the FAT32 partition. However, if I boot the Ubuntu guest OS with the USB drive not inserted into the computer, and then plug the USB drive in once Ubuntu has booted, I get the Parallels USB popup menu asking me if I want to mount the drive to the OS X or Ubuntu. If I choose Ubuntu, Ubuntu can then see the ext4 partition. Is there any way to get the Ubuntu automounter to fire at Ubuntu boot time, so Ubuntu can see the ext4 partition without having to plug it in after boot?
