I have a new iMAC. Connecting USB devices to the Windows XP VM has been a real disappointment with Parallels so far.
I have tried three USB devices; Garmin Street Pilot, JVC Camcorder, Cannon Powershot Digital Camera and none of them are detected by the Windows VM in Parallels. The Camcorder when you disconnect gives a Windows notice that the device was disconnected improperly and you may have lost data, but none are recognized when you connect them.
Device manager says the USB Hub and USB root are working fine but shows no devices connected. I tried using the USB port on the keyboard and the one on the computer back...same result on all.
I have an Epson Printer and it is working via the network as a shared printer connected to a PC via parallel cable. I wonder if anyone has conncted USB printer direct to iMac and able to priint from WIndows VM in Parallels.
