USB Logitech G7 Mouse - cursor jumps like crazy

i am running into a rather annoying problem with my Logitech G7 mouse with Parallels in Win XP.


Unlike Mac, XP on the other hand, is supported with Logitech's SetPoint drivers, meaning I can finally use the thumb button and left/right scroll.

However, I am running into two problems:
1) The cursor skips when the mouse moves quickly. I have this problem with Mac as well, but it was easily solved by using a higher DPI and lowering the speed via System Prefs. Nothing I've tried works

2) The SetPoint software don't seem to be picking up the mouse and therefore does not launch the tab where I can configue custom settings for the mouse. I believe it is because of the emulation, since in Logitech's support, it says the receiver should be plugged directly into the computer's USB (which it is in my case)
Is there a workaround for this?


Of course, #1 is a much bigger problem than #2, since I am currently used to not using custom settings with Mac. With a jumping cursor from a corner to another with a casual flick that was supposed to land on the "OK" button, it is just driving me crazy and I don't seem to want to touch XP anymore (but I can't :'( )


Now, before I've got parallels, I was using Boot Camp, which did not have these symptoms. (But I do have to install a crapload of drivers and surprising many hidden .files).





Any suggestions? I've searched the whole forum, but nobody seems to be using a G7... *sniff*

Your setpoint wont pick up the mouse because it's using the pointer location and button status from the Mac. It isn't actually talking to the hardware.

I donno about the jumping cursor thing. My Mx1000 (bluetooth version) works fine. You did install parallels tools with the mouse smoothing driver?

How do I share files.

I see the files in Win XP, but they are read only,

Yes -- I hate the fact that I cannot force-feed the *&(*@ SetPoint software to detect the mouse, but it's okay. I read the support section of Logitech's


And thank you for the Mac shareware for the mouse. I greatly appreciate it.


But if there's someone out there who have this porblem as well and knows the solution -- please stand up and speak up. It's your time to shine in the Parallels's forum section!!
