USB Serial Port

I have one last application that I need to port to WinXP running under Parallels. It's a DOS program that is used to configure a device that controls my house's lighting.

If I purchase a USB to Serial Adapter, can I expect it to work? Is there a particular adapter that is better then others?

I have successfully used the BAFO-810 USB to serial adapter to connect to Cisco routers.

You'll need the new prolific drivers to work on an Intel Mac:

I have also successfully used a Micro Innovations USB610A to talk with my Garmin Streetpilot 3 GPS. YMMV...
