USB Thumb Drive Causing WinXP VM Seizures

Running 2.1 Beta 6:

My Windows XP VM is seizing a lot when I have my USB thumb drive inserted into one of the built-in USB ports on the back of my iMac.

So far it has seized under the following circumstances:

- merely inserting the thumb drive and then unmounting the thumb drive from within Mac OS X (this was accompanied by a wavy VM screen and a strange "warbling" sound in the VM -- the rest of my Mac OS X environment was fine)

- initializing the thumb drive in the Windows VM (it had previously been initiaized on a Mac)

- transferring a file from a mounted Mac file server to the thumb drive (using drag and drop from within the Windows VM)

- switching the VM into full screen mode

These seizures are, unfortunately, not always reproducable, but they do happen often enough to be annoying.

I've also noticed the VM doesn't seem to acknowledge a previously inserted (and unmounted from Mac OS X) thumb drive. It seems I have to physically remove and re-insert the thumb drive to have the VM recognize it.

All in all, I'm loving the ability to run multiple OSes on my iMac!

I'm seeing the same freezing setup but it does eventually release and let you see the thumb drive.

What I have noticed is that you get the initial ta dunk sound and the the "led" on the speaker flashes continuosly (sp) while the vm machine thinks. I also notice that processor one is about 100% usage during this period. Must be a code loop of some kind (though I am no expert).
