Using Ethernet Bridge - no connectivity

I am trying to use Bridged Ethernet because I read that the default Sharing setting does not allow the remote network station (in my case a laptop PC) to see the host files. I want my laptop to be able to access the files in my Parallels XP installation.

The shared internet works fine on the laptop, but I cannot see any shared files, in either direction. I have turned off all firewalls, but still no luck.

Any suggestions where to look for answers in my setup?

Hello Rogershields,

Please try the following:

In VM Configuration -> Network adapter choose Default adapter;
Start your VM;
Make sure you have network connection in the VM;
Try to get access to your files.

If this will not work, try to reach VM through IP.

Success! I was able to get it by searching for the computer by name with the adapter set to Default. Thanks.
