Im setting up a mac os guest vm and have installed the guest os and parallels tools. I can see the shared drives folder. I would like to be able to access the time machine backup and restore it to the guest os vm. It appears there is not a way to mount the drive in a way that migration assistant recognizes. What am Im missing?

  2. Hi RobS14. Please start the virtual machine, select Devices (from the Mac menu bar) -> USB & Bluetooth -> Device name to connect the Time Machine directly to the virtual machine and check whether you are able to restore the backup.

I've done that several times. It fails to connect to the external drive. The drive is connected via thunderbolt.

    Thanks,

    Rob

As above this has been tried. Any additional suggestions?
