I'm migrating a PC to be used with Parallels for Mac via the Transporter using the external drive method. I believe that after following the steps listed in the KB for using the transporter created a .pvm file. The steps continue with connecting the drive to my mac and then using parallels to create a new VM and import the data. However my question is, why can't i just open the PVM? Why do I need to create a new virtual machine and import the pvm file?

Hi, during the migration, system creates the PC image and only after that the VM.
It's just a special transporter performance.
