i looked around and didn't find an exact issue like the one i'm having. here goes.

i have windows 2000 professional installed and also have an xp update disc that i would like to use to upgrade to xp. i have tried a few different "tricks" that i've found online and none have worked.

anyone have any ideas on how to make this happen?

also, anyone who's using linux or bsd...which distros seem to work the best with the least amount of hassle?

thanks,

jay

If you have a Windows XP upgrade CD (Does it have SP2?) then normally you should be able to run the setup program on the CD inside Windows 2000 to upgrade to Windows XP.

Is this what you tried to do?
