Ok, I admit this is pretty minor and I'm probably missing something obvious. In PD9 I could suspend the VM and shut down in one step simply by going to the top menu bar and selecting "Quit Parallels" from the drop-down. Very convenient. Now that menu bar says "Windows 8" (the name of my VM) and the drop-down now says "Quit Windows 8." When I select that the VM goes into its suspend process. At the completion of suspend the menu bar now says "Parallels" and I can select "Quit Parallels." Seems like a step backwards.

    Hi,

Please right-click on the Parallels Desktop icon in the Dock -> Quit. It will suspend the virtual machine and Parallels Desktop will shut down.
This change is due to our new design, where we wanted to separate the application for Mac side (Parallels Desktop.app) and the virtual machines itself.
So now when the virtual machine is running, you see its name as it was a Mac app, having Parallels Desktop running as a "parent" process.
