V4 Mouse slow and jerky but other performance OK

I have just upgraded to a new machine (now 4g, 2.5ghz - plenty for Parallels) and upgraded to version 4 at the same time. I have run into the same mouse jerkiness many other people have reported; it is pretty much unusable.

One thing I have noticed, if I bind the mouse USB to parallels the performance is perfect, all software runs well, mouse movement is good etc. Of course this is painful to use in a real situation as you must have an external mouse and you are having to maintain two mice locations to gain keyboard focus.

The issue seems to only be with mouse synchronisation.

I have tried the idle processes cleanup mentioned in knowlege base.

Any ideas ?

Hello Colinc,

Lets try reinstalling Parallel tools by completely removing them and install them once again. This will give us some new drivers that was not present previously.

Please follow these steps detailed below.

1) Log in to Windows => Go to Control Panel => turn off Windows Firewall and also Anti virus.
2) Go to Control Panel => Go to Add or remove Programs => Remove Parallel tools completely.
3) After the Parallel tools are removed then on the Menu bar click on Virtual machine.
4) Click on install Parallel tools => Click on Continue and proceed with the installation.
5) Restart the Windows Operating System when prompted.

Please check the status of the issue. If this issue still persists then follow the below mentioned steps.

1. Launch Parallels Desktop but do not start the Virtual Machine.
2. Go to Configure/ Services.
3. Enable Automatic capture and release of the mouse pointer.
4. Click Ok
