I am wondering if there is a way to install a video card on my Macbook Pro. I have purchased some design software to run on windows xp, but it says that I need some kind of video card. As far as I can tell, there is not one installed on my mac. Any ideas? I hope I didn't just waste my money on these programs. Thanks for any advice.

Require some kind of video card under Windows? Then I believe you should use Boot Camp to install Windows XP natively on your Macbook Pro and install your design software after booting your Macbook Pro under Windows XP. That way that software should probably work.

Installing a new video card into a notebook would be some kind of trick. But it is surprising that the video hardware is not already adequate.

Parallels uses virtual hardware, which includes a virtual video card. So if your software requires a reasonable level of video, then it is highly unlikely to work in Parallels.
