I had decided to convert my BootCamp VM to a Virtual disk VM because it is easier to handle and it turned out that I never really needed Bootcamp natively. So I converted the install using Transporter to virtual disk. Except for the disk type, the configurations of the VMs are identical. But how disappointed was I when I discovered that Paralles now eats up twice as much CPU when Windows is idle! I am using Parallels on a MacBook w/ 2 GHz C2D. The Bootcamp machine ususally uses 20-30 % CPU, while the Virtual disk variant eats 40-55 % CPU. Can this be true or may a misconfiguration be the problem?
