Using Parallels Image Tool...I recovered lost Mac Folders/Files
Since I did not receive an email reply from the Parallels Support Staff and their Support Hotline 1-888 number was constantly busy, I tried to recover the files myself. If one inadvertently creates a Virtual Machine Partition with the same name as the folder you house your valuable documents, the .pvm file that is created during this mishap still has your data located all in that one .pvm file.
I used Parallels Image Tool to view All Files located within the VM.pvm file. Located in the file were my lost Mac associated files. I created Alias' on the desktop of my Mac by dragging the folder or file from the Parallels Image Tool Finder Window to the desktop, which when clicked, Opened a new Finder Window or the file and volia! My files were unharmed and in full living color. I then copied the files from Alias Finder Window to newly created Folders. Subsequently, I have removed/trash the particular Shared VM.pvm file from the computer and have attempted to start the installation and migration of a VM from another machine to this machine using the Parallels Transporter Tool via the directions. I am BACKING UP all the important file information that I thought I had lost....
