Virtual Machine Startup

I have Vista installed via parallels from my boot camp partition. Is there a way to set up the Virtual Machine which uses Boot camp so as not to have to boot up Vista everytime I want to use it and shut it down everytime I am done? I was able to do this when just using a fresh install of Vista via parallels but it does not work when using the boot camp partition as my VM.
 
Anyone have any idea? Is it just not possible? Do I need to just create a new VM that doesnt boot from boot camp?
 
That is what I have done. However, everytime I want to close parallels I have to shutdown WINDOWS manually via start. I just want to be able to close parallels and have Vista pause like parallels allows if one is running a normal VM(not via boot camp). IS that possible?

So I am going to have to make a fresh install of Vista then and not use bootcamp for parallels if I want to be able to take advantage of the simple shutdown of parallels(and not manual shutdown via start)?
