Virtual WiFi adapter

Hi I need to configure a Windows 7 virtual machine under Parallels 6 that has a WiFi adapter. I've tried to bridge the network to the WiFi adapter on my Mac but the guest sees is a virtual Intel PRO 1000 (wired) NIC.

Does anyone know if it's possible to create a virtual WiFi adapter?

not quite sure I fully understood your problem - but IMHO there's no need for a wireless adapter inside the VM. The VM can make use of almost every network connection host side, regardless it was a cable, wi-fi or whatever else.

Inside the VM the OS and all progs see a LAN adapter and gain network access through it, even if the physical connector in the host is wi-fi.

I use both NAT and bridged setups and they all work flawlessly. Normally I stick to NAT what means the VM is 'invisible' outside your host computer as host and VM share the host's IP address. Use bridged when you want the VM to gain an extra IP and be therefor visible to the whole LAN.

The software that runs on top of a wireless NIC is quite different from wired. For example, if you've ever configured a wireless network you may have noticed encryption options and an enumeration of wireless networks. That is the software to which I need access and is unavailable on the wired virtual adapter.
 
Hmmmm - just to be sure: What you want to do is to access the host's physical wi-fi adaptor from inside the VM, right?
