I've installed Vista three times now, and every time I install the Parallels tools the OS just quits booting. It sucks down close to 600MB or memory (it's set for 512MB), burns up CPU cycles like crazy, and all I get is the green bars scrolling ever so slowly across the boot screen, but even if I let it run overnight there's no progress.
I uninstalled the Tools per one of the FAQs I read. Nothing, nada, zilch.
If I don't install the tools it seems to work OK except for the fact I can't connect to the network. If you don't have any ideas on fixing the real issue, and suggestions for getting around the networking problem?
I'm running a 1.8GHz AMD with 1GB of RAM and XP Pro SP2. FYI, I was able to run Vista just fine as the primary OS, but some other critical apps didn't like Vista, so I'd like to run it as a VM for testing and troubleshooting.
