As Apple released BootCamp1.2, I guess Parallels Desktop for Mac will support Vista on BootCamp volume soon.

Could anybody fix and write about Vista Licensing, what we can or can't, should, and how.

I'm using Vista(Ultimate) on Paralles VM volume.
If I use it on BootCamp volume, or reverse case, can we re-activate Vista ?

As I thought many people interest about it, made a new post.

to cut a read short,

Although you can, you break the EULA by installing Vista Home editions as virtual machines.

You cant compare vista, against any other product, publically, without following M$'s strict (and probably ever changing) guidelines. So no comments like "It runs slower than XP". Thats a no no!

If you do install the business or ultimate editions in a virtual machines, YOU MAY NOT use any DRM secured media or files.

and finallly...

Should you buy a new pc after installing Vista already on one machine, you may not install the same disk on any further machines, even if you destroy any previous installations...

It is allowed to use Vista Ultimate and Vsita Business in Parallels.

All versions of Vista can be used in Boot Camp, because Boot Camp isn't virtualization.
 
i know, he just asked for information about licencing so i just gave an overview of the vista eula

of course, vista home in bootcamp is fine, but it'll be a grey area should you decide to use that version installed via bootcamp, in parallels, as you will be using it virtually then.
 
Yeah, M$ is out for money... :P They need to pump Vista for all it is worth. It is sad they attach these sorts of guidelines. It's bs.
