Vista RC1 and 1896.2 Install Failure

When installing RC1, I received the following error:

Windows could not prepare the computer to boot into the next phase of installation. To install Windows, restart the installation. The installation was canceled. Any changes that were made to your computer during the installation process will not be saved.​

I have tried twice for good measure, but encountered the same error. This is on Macbook Pro, Japanese Keyboard. Anyone else encountering this?
 
Try it again with 1898. I didn't get the same error you did but I could not successfully install RC1 on my Mac Pro under 1896.2. Just tonight I got RC1 installed without any issues at all under 1898.
 
Working now with 1898

I found a couple of problems with my previous install. The md5 sum of the vista_5600.16384.060829-2230_x86fre_client-lr1cfre_en_dvd.iso file was not 22486e815a38feffd9667317dfeec55a as is specified at the download site http://download.windowsvista.com/preview/rc1/en/download.htm

And so I had a bad copy of RC1. I re-installed with 1898 and was able to proceed without problems. Now to get my Japanese input keys working :) Thanks for the suggestion.
