parallesl 3 with directX 3D support enabled still runs like a dog with 2 legs compared with XP Pro Anyone got any secrets I have never tried it under boot camp cause I really don't want partition my drive

Vista is going to run slow, no matter what. Its just a big bulky behemoth. I'm running it on a macpro (using boot camp) and it runs ok. I suspect it will run slower on a MBP but decent in bootcamp - I wouldn't want to try it in parallels.

My buddy runs Vista Ultimate on a box he built especially for it. It's got dual quad core 2 duo (IIRC) and to make it run "like a top" as he put it he had to put 4GB of RAM in the box.

Personally.. when I do upgrade to Leopard I will probably get a second harddrive, upgrade, and boot Vista off the second drive via bootcamp, if I even bother to do it at all..
