Hi, recently I installed parallels tools on a VM running Debian 11. I used the VM before for programming, using Visual Studio code and it worked perfectly. After installing Parallels Tools, VS doesn't work anymore. It stays frozen or the window doesn't render. I don't know if this is a bug?
Hi! window not rendering typically indicates gpu acceleration, which seems to be pain for many Parallels Linux users. disable gpu rendering (see e.g https://stackoverflow.com/questions/29966747/how-can-i-disable-gpu-rendering-in-visual-studio-code) and it should work. gpu acceleration can be disabled for the whole vm, but that could affect performance. -jani
I have the exact same issue. I tried to download/install from snap, apt, and even tried to manually install the .deb package and still get the same broken gui when I try to open up vs code. I had constant error reporting after install .deb of chrome
