VM freezes right before bootup

After many tries I have succesfully installed and booted "Turbolinux 10," set up as a "other Linux" VM. I have a nagging problem though.

VM freezes right before bootup. I have it set to boot from "hard drive first" for booting order. When I change to "floppy first," I am able to boot from floppy boot disk.

Why is the VM freezing after just showing virtual RAM and not going thru the bootup AT ALL? I have a properly installed virtual HDD, and when I let it boot from floppy it boots up just fine.
