I apologize if this has already been addressed/answered, but I tried to search function and have been unable to find an answer.

I used transporter to copy one of my Window's XP Operating System to a VM on my Mac Book.
When I boot up the VM on my Mac it asks to validate the system and register with microsoft. I have chosen up to this point to not validate the system.
My question is this: If I do validate the copied system on my Mac will it render the copy that is still on my Windows computer unuseable?
I still use the windows machine but would like a direct copy on my Mac system too.
