    Chaps, and Lassies..

just to make sure you are seeing this VT-X issue correctly..

if you just load Paralles... it reports VT-X = Off

if you just load DOS or a blank VHD... it reports VT-X = Software Mode 0

If you load a SUPPORTED OS (Win/XP/Vista) it then reports VT-X Enabled..

I think this might explain some of the it worked then it didn't scenarios...

as i have scanned (i hope) the other posts on this matter, and no one seems to report exactly when they see the VT-X as being not available..

This post is intended for clarity reasons... :)

Could be, but a lot of people were reporting VT-x off, or software mode 0 being used IIRC, while XP was active (already booted). In other words, booting into XP was not enabling VT-x.

My guess is there is probably an issue with mac mini firmware or potentially certain revs of the Core cpus that causes this kind of strange behavior on some systems and not others.

Which reminds me... the parallels guys said they had a call in to Apple on this, any word on what Apple's response was?

    Cheers
