W2003 server (in Pv5) DHCP server not pingable

I have two MacBooks:
OD - running Mac OS X Server 10.5
My Mac - running Mac OS X 10.6
AD = Parallels v5/Windows 2003 Server on my Mac and running as Active Directory/DNS/DHCP server.

I have recently upgraded Parallels from v3, to gain compatibility with 10.6. Unfortunately, the Windows setup, which has been fine since install 3 years ago, is now broken.

OD is 10.0.1.6 static, my Mac is 10.0.1.10 static, DNS Server is 10.0.1.5

I can ping OD from my Mac, I can ping my Mac from OD, but I can't ping AD (all pings on IP addresses).

Checking Parallels Network settings, I found:
Connection type: Shared
Start/end address: 10.211.55.1 > 254
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Subnet: 10.211.55.0

I have altered this to:
Connection type: Shared
Start/end address: 10.0.1.1 >100
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Subnet: 10.0.1.0

This made no difference, nor has disabling DHCP here.

My Mac Network Preference settings:
Manually: 10.0.1.10
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
DNS: 10.0.1.5
Search: testnet.com

Windows is reporting that the 'Ethernet bridged' connection has limited or no connectivity (using 'default bridged' gets the same result). It's Control Panel TCP/IP pane is set to DHCP, but it is not displaying an address, subnet mask or DNS.

I've checked in Administrative Tools > DNS that the domain name is testnet.com and the computer name is AD but, in Administrative Tools > DHCP, ad.testnet.com is on 169.254.95.254 (DNS also lists this number and neither will let me edit it) - I'm guessing this is at least least part of the problem - where do I change this?

If I try to enter 10.0.1.5 into the Network Control Panel it states that this is already installed in a hidden Parallels Network Control Panel. So it would seem to be a Parallels-installed component of Windows that is acting (or not-acting) as the DNS server (?) - do you know how I can access that?

Parallels Network Connection details (uneditable) are:
IP: 169.254.95.254

Unfortunately, this setup is not correct. While using Shared internet connection it is strongly recommended to leave default params.

I'd recommend:

1) Go to the menu of "Parallels Desktop" -> "Preferences" -> "Networking" and press "Restore Defaults" button. Then Make sure that VM is in Shared Networking mode and reboot the VM.

2) If this doesn't help (for example, you are unable to open www.apple.com in browser), click Start -> Run and execute cmd.exe. Type in the appeared window command "ipconfig /all". Then, without closing the window, click Parallels Destkop menu "Help"->"Report a Problem", send a problem report (it is not necessary to provide description) and post here the report ID.
 
I only made the changes to default because it did not work in default. This has now been restored. It has been in Shared Network mode throughout, with Windows using Ethernet bridged. The report ID is ID 2844575. Thanks for looking into this for me.
 
Fantastic - why didn't I try that before? I knew I'd say that when the solution was found!

The DHCP server has alway been on 10.0.1.5. When I tried to put that in, to Network Connections > Local Area Connections > Properties > Internet Protocol > TCP/IP (which had been blank), it told me that that address was already in use by a hidden Parallels Network component and it was likely to cause trouble.

I didn't think to try a different address! 10.0.1.4 was accepted. I could ping it from OD. I checked in Windows Server > DHCP, which was now listed on 10.0.1.4 (it had been listing as 10.0.1.5).

It said it was 'inactive'. Whilst checking that the scope was correct, it changed to 'active' and a Mac set to DHCP has picked up an address.
