I have just installed the latest 2X app server with web portal. When I launch the Portal I get the following error:

    Date: 05/03/2009 00:00:00
    Code: 0D/00000002
    Type: Error
Message: Invalid 2X WebService location: http://localhost/2XWebService/2XWebService.asmx

I have found other threads relating to this error and I have followed the instructions - browse the 2XWebService.asmx. This displays a page and the same path is in the 2XWebPortal webconfig file.

The server is a domain controller running Windows 2003 Server R2. It is also a virtual server - not sure if this is the problem.

I have this same version installed on another server running the same version of Windows with no problems, although this server is not a virtual server.

Is there a problem running this on a virtual server? What else can be causing the problem.

    TIA

    James

    Hi ,

make sure you have installed the Gateway Service on that Machine (if not the full Apps Server ) .
Also try to replace the "Local Host " with the actual IP Adress .
It being a Virtual Server has no relevance , but a DC is not recomended and if you want failover it will be a Problem .

    Hi

    Doesn't help, sorry.

I have changed the Terminal Servers section to use IP instead of name. Agent Status is OK. I did install the full application server. Going to IP address instead of localhost gives the same error.

As for not running on a DC, my other server where it is running is a DC. There is only one server on each of the domain. Failover is to move everything to the other server.

Everything is setup the same on the two servers, same version, same security updates. The only difference is this VM server is running the latest 2X but only becuase I had the same problem running an older version.

Do you have any other suggestions?

    James

    Hi,
I don't know the exact problem, but you can start from the scratch.
uninstall everything related with 2X(2X ApplicationServer and 2X WebPortal).
    Uninstall IIS
    Uninstall .net 2/3
    and install everything(2X ApplicationServer->.net 2/3-> IIS6->2X webportal).

    it will work.

    Tom
