    I am using parallels desktop 17.1.2 (51548), MacBook Pro 16 (2019), with a 2.3G i9 processor and 32G RAM, macOS 12.3.1 installed.

I saw the news that Ubuntu 22.04 LTS had been released, I am currently using Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, and I want to update to the latest version. Before starting the installation of Ubuntu 22.04, I had installed all the updates; typing the command "sudo apt-get upgrade" would get "0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded." Then I typed "sudo do-release-upgrade -d," but I got

"Checking for a new Ubuntu release
Upgrades to the development release are only available from the latest supported release."

What should I do to upgrade to the latest version of Ubuntu?

@JohnM106, I followed the steps on that pages too, twice. First with the terminal and then with the GUI. But I got the same result at both attempts. Installation was successful, but it didn't restart.
