When I click on an XLS on my MacBook from Finder I get the Windows version of Excel launched. This is regardless of whether I created it with the Windows version or the Mac version (I have both versions installed). Can this behavior be modified Tony
If you right click or (control click for single button mousers) on the xls file it will present a menu. Select Get Info and examine the "Open with" option to see what application that file is associated with.
Ahh, thanks. Hadn't noticed the subtle distinction between the names of the two versions of Excel is just the icon.
Stealing file associations is an old ploy. It is actually a very serious matter and I hope Parallels will turn this feature off and let the user make that decision, Peter
