Why does Windows 10 go into pause?

I'm presently downloading a larger chunk (Cygwin/X) into the Windows 10 VM.
    I'm running from battery FWIW.
The download is busy and the progress bars are being updated. So the Windows machine is heavily busy.

Nonetheless my MacBook Pro darkens the screen after a few minutes and when I awaken the machine again (should it go asleep at all?) Windows 10 shows the pause || bars.

    Why?

When Mac dims the screen, Parallels allows Windows to sleep by changing power scheme to allow sleeping (1 minute sleep timeout). You can disallow that behavior by changing power scheme in Windows from 'Parallels' to another scheme.
