I downloaded parallels and had it point to boot camp which was previously installed with win xp. The memory selected for parallels desktop was 512 MB (total mac memory is 1 GB). I was surprised at to how incredibly slow it was for parallels to start up and boot up windows using boot camp. It took forever.

Once windows fully loaded I barely unable to utilize windows due to how slow it was even to open up a folder or word pad document.

I don't know why this happened.

Anyone have any suggestions as to why this occurred and how to fix the slow start up speed?

    Thanks.
