I have Parallels 11 for the Mac. I am running Windows 7. The performance is terrible. When I copy a bunch of files to a flash drive, the files go at a rate of 2-3 megabyes/second. When I copy the same files on my very old Lenovo (running Windows 8), the files go at a rate of 12/13 megabytes/second. Why is this?

Also, what is really bad is I have an old VB 6 program that I run every weekday. Running, this program consumes 100% of the CPU under Parallels. Running this same program on the old Lenovo, the program consumes less than 50% of the CPU. Why is this? Please help me.

    Thanks!

What memory do yo have installed, and what set on parallels. I found reducing win7 to 4Gb while the mac was physically increased to 16Gb made a huge difference. Went from jerky, slow, pinwheel running, to lightning fast.

I have 16 gig. I increased the processors to 2 and that made a big difference.
