Yesterday Apple spent considerable time on the phone helping me with an external drive problem. The tech had me re-install Leopard 10.5. I them installed the latest Leopard update (10.5.8).
Parallels 4.0 had been working fine on my system, but now when I click on the icon in the bottom tray it just bounces up and down. Nothing happens. Not even an error message.
I have not yet tried to un-install and re-install because of the initial problems that I encountered in my switch to version 4.0 last Fall. (I spent days trying to get it to work, numerous emails, and hours on the phone with Tech Support. I lost my mouse and sound and could not get Tools to install completely. After a Tech took over my computer remotely, and spent a couple of hours, it finally began to work.) So you see why I am hesitant in reinstalling, but I am getting desperate and may have to try uninstall and re-install today.
Suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I need to prepare for the class I teach on Monday, and most of my relevant files are on the Windows XP side of my system.
I also have been trying to contact the Tech at Apple to see if he can help me back-out of this problem.
