Hello, I'm running PD10 and have a Windows 10 VM that was upgraded from Windows 7. Microsoft announced that the free upgrade offer ends on July 29, 2016. Now I'm wondering if I upgrade Parallels Desktop to the next version, will I need to reactivate Windows 10? And will the change be sufficient enough to trigger the Windows activation feature, and therefore my license for Windows 10 is no longer valid? According to Microsoft, changing the motherboard will trigger the activation. Will Windows 10 see a new version of PD as a "new motherboard?" Thanks!
Hi Tristan, Upgrading Parallels Desktop to the next version will not trigger Windows activation if you move Parallels Desktop and the virtual machine to a new Mac then it might ask you to reactivate. Thanks, Ajith M.
