Win XP will no longer boot after installing HP Scanner to Virtual Machine?

Hi Mark, glad to listen you again ;)
So after addition second hard disk startup your new VM, wait until Win XP loaded and logon into it. Go to "My computer" and if you won't to see there your newly added hard disk as system volume then do follow:
1. Go to "Control Panel->Administrative tools->Computer management->Disks management"
2. Find there your second virtual harddisk (guest OS see it as physical drive) and map it to some likely you volume letter

After these actions you'll must to see new volume at "My computer" and will be able to do necessary changes on it. Good luck.

Thanks again for all your advice. I tried to uninstall the scanner on the "old" virtual machine, but didn't have any luck. The scanner did not show up under "add and remove programs. Also within the program file directory I clicked uninstall but nothing happened. I then manually renamed all the files for the scanner driver. The "old" machine still won't boot. The bottom line is that I got my data back. A big thank you for that. I have now uninstalled parallels and will decide in next little while what to do next. Since I am an amateur at computers, I may just buy office for mac rather than running a virtual machine to do this.
Anyway thanks again for all your help over the past few weeks. You certainly were the most helpful person I consulted over this issue, and believe me I consulted quite a few.
