I've had Parallels for years specifically for using Outlook for Windows, which is far superior to the Mac version. Despite the better features, my M1 MacBook with 16gb ram struggles to run it. It often hangs/freezes, especially when I do a search, but other times doing tasks as simple as opening emails. When this happens, I can't click anything, but after 5-30 seconds, I can use the app again. I even upgraded from 8gb of ram to 16gb to fix the problem, but it did nothing.

I have parallels automatically allocating my resources. Is an 8gb M1 not fast enough to run Windows as a virtual machine? Even Windows itself doesn't run speedily. Curious if anyone has feedback on how to make it snappier.

    Hello,
Kindly run the virtual machine and generate a technical report for further investigation:
    - Right-click on the Parallels Desktop icon from the dock.
    - Click on Help > Send Technical data > Check "Attach screenshots..." > press Send Report.
    - Provide us the 9-digit report ID as a reply to this comment.
    Thanks!

I have the exact same computer and also upgraded to 16gb just to get outlook running faster. It changed nothing and I wasted the money. Did parallels get you a fix?

I have the same issue - constant multi-second freezes. (Apple M1 Max, 64gig ram.)

I followed these instructions through step 5: Fix network issues in a Windows virtual machine (parallels.com)

I realized so much of what I was doing required internet traffic since I keep most of my files on OneDrive. I noticed even in the browser there were hangs, so intermittent internet access was a potential culprit. I worked through the above and Parallels has been working much better for three days now.
