Windows 2000 Pro Installation Problems

Hi All,

I'm trying to install Windows 2000 Professional into Parallels 3.0 with no luck. When I press start on the VM it comes back with a: There is no operating system installed in the virtual machine. error. When I try the disk in a windows machine, it boots just fine. I've tried creating a disk image from the CD, but that does the same thing. The only other tidbit I can offer is that the disk is a copy and is not labeled Windows 2000 or anything like that. Just some generic name given when it was created.

Any ideas??

Thanks,

Tom

Have you set the virtual machine to boot from your CD?

Yes, I've set the boot device to both CD drives (With the disk in place, of course.) as well as the ISO image. No luck.

Thanks,

Tom

hi,
probably you already known but nevertheless whether your virtual CD drive bint to the first IDE controller (IDE 0)? Check it at VM configuration. Parallels BIOS couldn't to boot from devices on non first IDE controller yet.
