Perhaps if you just type letters, play some games and do spreadsheets, Windows 7 is good for you. But if you have to do artwork on it, and you need to have a tablet work every time you come into Windows, then it is not for you. I have wasted the better part of a week setting up Windows 7 in Parallels 7. I am not blaming Parallels as Windows 7 which are not running this OS virtualized are having just the same difficulty. And talk about prone to spyware, malware, and you name it. It is an unusable operation system. I am glad I did not get rid of XP because I can count on it working.
And aren't the apps you required to do artwork directly available on Mac OS X? All Adobe products are and others specifically for doing illustration with tablets like Autodesk's Sketchbook Pro also.
OK you say Windows 7 is more prone to malware then XP? Really? When I ran XP I had all sorts of issues with click jacking, fake anti virus and other viruses. With Windows 7 have have yet to have one. I have a hard time believing that one. Besides I do agree that running Windows in Parallels is not the greatest especially on weaker hardware. But if you can run native OS applications of what you need that would be better. Parallels is really for users who need to run specific applications that are only developed for a OS that is not OS X.
