I installed Windows 7 Enterprise on MacBook Pro [2.5 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM] using Parallels 4.0.3846. I am unable to connect to the Internet/network because Windows 7's Device Manager shows that the ethernet drivers are not installed nor am I able to hear sound because the multimedia audio controller drivers are also not installed. Windows' 7 Update Driver function was unable to locate the drivers for either. Any suggestions?
Also having issues with Ethernet/Audio Drivers... I'm also having issues with this... Using Windows 7 Business and I've tried loading the boot camp/vista drivers to no avail... If anyone has any suggestions, I'd also appreciate it...
Same Issue Just wondering if you had a resolution to this problem. I am having the exact same issue with Windows 7 on my Mac Book Pro.
Fixed! Here is the fix: 1. Launch Parallels 2. Launch Windows 7 3. Switch Parallels out of Full Screen view and into Window, Coherence, or Modality view. 4. Click the Parallels icon on Apple's Dock at the bottom of your screen. 5. At the very top of your Mac's screen, on the Parallels menu bar, chose Virtual Machine > Install Parallels tools 6. Follow the on-screen prompts.
Same issues with Ethernet/Audio Drivers... Any inroads on this?... same issues with a Win7 Home Premium Upgrade install on MacBook Pro. Holding off on subsequent Win7 Pro anytime upgrade from Home until this is resolved.
I had the same issues when I recently had to reinstall Vista under Parallels. Installing Parallel Tools fixed everything for me.
I had exact same missing drivers for Ethernet/Audio/PCI on my Win7 HP - 64bit upgrade from XP, but came across this archived post from an earlier rev. Effectively, I reinstalled my Parallel Tools on the VM & it picked up the missing drivers and fixed the issue for me. I believe v4 for Mac now has option under virtual machine to reinstall Tools, but I used this earlier post's CD Image Connect approach and it worked for me too. Hope this works for each of you, too. ****************** PDM RC2 and Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Jun 14, 2006, 02:06 PM#1 Sharkus Member Join: Apr 2006 Posts: 84 PDM RC2 and Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Afternoon all, Perhaps I'm missing something here. I've got 2003 Enterprise installed, however, when I look in device manager I have a missing ethernet controller, not to handy for a server One assumed that perhaps the Paralles VM Tools might contain one, however when I go to the VM menu in Parallels the Install VM Tools command is greyed out. Anyone know why? What is it that I'm missing here? Jun 14, 2006, 02:24 PM#2 Sharkus Member Join: Apr 2006 Posts: 84 OK, after using my brain, I worked out what to do... I use the "connect image" option for the CD and selected the vmtools.iso, which is found at /Library/Parallels/Tools/ Once I did that the image autoplayed and installed the various drivers. I'm not sure why the menu item was greyed out though, and it remains so, as does the Parallels Compressor menu item, though I'm guessing that also can be run using the same method as there is an iso for it in the same Tools folder.
