windows 7 vm is currently running. what should be done with it

I am running windows 7 with parallels on a macbook with mojave. I keep getting the message above in a box. It gives me options to "shutdown", "cancel" or "suspend". It seems to occur after a period of inactivity but I am not sure. Why is this happening? What can I do to fix/stop it?

Thank you for following up. I solved the problem. The mac was logging out after 20 minutes pursuant to advanced settings under security and privacy. I turned off the log out setting and all is now good. steveh
