I'm running Windows 98 under Parallels on a MacBook.
I'm trying to add a different screen resolution to the list offered by Display Control Panel. It offers three screen resolution settings: 640x480, 800x600, and 1024x768. The last is closest to what I would like it to be, but when running in windowed mode, the bottom of the Parallels window (primarily the Status Bar) falls off the bottom of the display, and is inaccessable. Obviously, to get to the point where any alternate screen resolutions are available, I've already installed Parallels Tools.
As I understand it, one is supposed to be able to add new custom screen resolutions using the Configuration Editor > Video Resource settings. I have attempted this, adding for instance a 1024x600 option, ensuring that the Enable checkbox is selected. Unfortunately, none of the added resolution settings actually shows up in the Windows Display Control Panel resolution settings - no matter how many I add ini Parallels, I only get the original three described above.
FYI, the Display Properties window reports that I'm using a Super VGA 1024x768 monitor on Parallels Video Adapter.
Anyone know a way to get Windows 98 to acknowledge the added resolution settings?
