Windows Explorer crashes if a drive is mapped to a Parallels Shared Folder (\\.psf\x)

When a drive is mapped to a \\.psf\x folder, Windows Explorer continuously crashes (i.e., it crashes, then restarts, then crashes again, etc) until the drive is removed. Unfortunately, this is the only way to access Parallels Shared Folders from some programs (ones which have dialog boxes without a place to input a path and which are unable to follow Windows shortcuts.)

I can't just use Mac-PC networking, because my IP address changes on a regular basis (twice a day, once at school and once at home.)

Is there a workaround or solution for this?

Thanks,
