Windows keeps wanting to update the same update

I am using build 3214 and the problem that I am having is that XP continually wants to update the same update every time I restart windows.

Any suggestions,

The problem that I have is that the windows OS continually wants to update. Every time I restart it there is another update. I end up using it 2-3 times a day and not even Windows should be that bad at updates. But I am not sure if this is a Parallels problem or a Windows OS problem.

That may be normal for a new install, since the WinXP in the box will be missing lots of updates.

With my mature installation of WinXP in Parallels on this MacBook, I get updates at least once a week.

With my seldom used PC laptop (I use it for presentations only, and infrequently), it seems to take lots of time updating each time I use it.

The problem seems to be more extensive as I have had windows XP running for a few weeks now and all of the updates should have been made. In fact I have noticed the same number for the update each time. KB935840
