A Windows, installed on Boot Camp volume has a licence. But if it is activated on Boot Camp, It's not allowed to use on Parallels. And if it is acetivated on Parallels, It's not allowed to use on Boot Camp. Because Mac hardware and Parallel's VM are different machine.

So, what merit is there to use Boot Camp volume on Parallels ?

If I can use a Windows on Boot Camp volume from both of Boot Camp and Parallels, I'll feel it's a convenient environment.

Is there any way to do it -- I'm talking about licencing matter.-- ?

What version of Windows are you using? In theory, as far as Vista is concerned, I think you can only legally install Vista Ultimate, and I think Business, in a VM.

Yes, subject to the above if you're using Vista, get a telephone activation for the second installation. So long as you emphasize that it's on the same machine they'll give you another activation key.

Using Windows from BootCamp you will be able to use the full capacities of your computer, ie graphics card, if you want to do gaming etc

    Thank you. > Salamat

    I'm using Vista Ultimate.

If I get the "another activation key" by phonecall, it means I have two keys, are they work together ?
Or I have to re-activate every I switch to use between Boot Camp and Parallels ?

No, it's fine....you don't have to reactivate each time you switch.

You might like to explore other activation threads running at the moment as there are other ways of getting round this, though personally, I had no problem going the Microsoft route.

    Yes, I could today !!

I did it by following steps.
    1) remake Boot Camp Partition and install vista.
    2) make Parallels VM using Boot Camp volume.
    3) start vista on Parallels and activate it. (success)
    4) start vista from Boot Camp and go to activation process.
    5) call to MS and tell them that I want to move my Vista from Parallels VM to Boot Camp.
    6) enter codes which they give on calling. (then activation complete)

Then, I become to be able to use a Vista from both of Boot Camp and Parallels.
    Thanks a lot.
