Hi all. I just installed Parallels for iMac yesterday. The installation went fine, and I installed Windows XP Home edition as my guest OS.

One program I enjoyed using on Windows was Microsoft's Windows Live Photo Gallery. I can get it to open in Parallels, and the thumbnails show up nicely. But when I double click on a photo to open it in the Gallery's viewer and edit page, it hangs for a bit than loads some unrecognizable graphic.

Can anyone shed any light on this problem?

Here is the screen shot attachment of the problem I had creating a ticket. I filled in all required fields, and it kept telling me to fill in all required fields.

I have the same problem since upgrading from v3 to v4, and also the same problem initiating a ticket. Pic attached. The viewing problem can be solved by uninstalling Parallels Tools but reappears once Tools reinstalled. I am running Vista Ultimate as guest OS.

I also made a new virtual machine using Windows XP as the guest OS. Windows Picture & Fax Viewer works fine.

Hmmmm... Let's see... Right after installing Parallels, I experienced the following:

1) Failure to get Parallels to run the very first Windows application I tried in it.

2) Failure to be able to create a ticket (I was told to fill in all required fields after having filled in all required fields)

3) Failure to be able to include an attachment when sending a private message to the administrator, when the administrator asked for one (I saw no way of attaching anything in Private Message mode)

4) No response from anyone now that I posted the attachment in this thread.

sort of. Parallels support suggested increasing video memory. However that did not resolve the fault, but switching off 3D acceleration does cure the problem.

1) You suggest switching off 3D acceleration. Is this in OS X, or in the Windows guest OS?
2) Where is the setting to turn that off?

Not in OS X but in the virtual machine. Start Parallels but do not start the virtual machine. Select 'Virtual Machine' from the menu bar, then 'Configure...'

Select 'Video' from the left-hand column and you will see the settings on the right. You can de-select 3D there.

It worked. You're a genius! I don't know what made you think to disable 3D, but it worked. Thank you so much.
